Values education benefits to children and the society that they live in, when the children, as an individual and also a part of a society, firstly should know the humane values of the society that they live in. Then, they need to reflect these values to their behaviours to sustain their lives by saving physiological and physical health. These values are love, respect, honesty, freedom, doing the best, toleration and so on. These values that affect and shape the humans’ lives are learned through experiencing and feeling with the way of observations and interactions. This means, education is necessarily a process of inculcating ‘values’ to equip the learner with necessary skills and knowledge to live a better life.‘Values Education’ firstly starts in the family and continues both at home and at school. Values Education at school is given to students by studied subject matters, works of Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit and also the teachers’ behaviours to the students. It continues providing opportunities for the continuous development of all students’ knowledge, skills and attitudes related to certain values which lead to behaviours promoting these values. This type of sustainable efforts affect and improve the quality of school education and increase the academic success.
Values Education is very important for Kultur Educational Institutions that strive for global and bilingual education. The importance of values education is clearly reflected in Kultur Constitutional provisions (See: Kultur Constitution –Provision numbers; 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 16, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28). Values Education that begins from kindergarten and continues until the end of high school, is deliberately presented to children according to children’s perception level as a part of a related topic of any course or an activity of Guidance and Counselor Service within an academic year.
